The last week of la escuela! Summer vacation is only a few days away! I wish so much that we had been able to explore Spanish together in person, but I'm so glad so many of you still tried to stay engaged with learning from your casa. I even feel like I got to know some of you through our Zoom classes, which I always looked forward to each week. Speaking of Zoom, we will not have Zoom class on Tuesday. However, we will still play Quizlet Live at 12:30pm like we did last week. We will play for 15 minutes. Go to www.quizlet.live and type in the code. I will email you the code to join our game on Tuesday morning. Keep up with Duolingo over the summer. Five minutes a day will help you! Even just a few times a week. If you haven't tried it yet, I encourage you to start! Especially if you are taking 7th grade Spanish! I hope you all have un verano fantástico!! I can't wait til we can start learning again together! ¡Adiós! Nos vemos en septiembre!

Hola! Last week we played the "No es Justo!" game during our Zoom class - and it was very... well, … no es justo! I hope that you all had as much fun as I did playing it. Having fun while we learn Spanish es importante!
I'm glad to see more of you trying out Duolingo! You really can learn a lot. Imagine if you continue spending just 5 minutos a day through the summer - you will learn so much! (muchisimo!) Here's a short video that I thought you might like. It is about una mascota: un gato. You won't understand everything, but I think you can get the main ideas. See if you can learn 10 new words!

It will be lots of fun! Have you tried out Duolingo yet? It's a great way to learn some Spanish at your own pace!! After you create an account, join our 6th grade class so I can see what you are learning! Hola! Hopefully the weather will warm up some and you can get outside! Outside is afuera in Spanish. This week, I thought it would be fun for you to learn the names of common things we see outside on a walk, or even in your yard. Click on the file below and print this paper out if you can. See what you can find (and say in Spanish!) Happy hunting!
Hola! First off, great job on your part checking in on Spanish! I know it's a lot for you to manage right now in your core classes, so the pressure is off when it comes to your electives... when your main school work is done, or just when you need a change of pace, come on over and see what you can do in Spanish!

¡Hola! I'm so glad you found your way to our new Spanish "classroom!" It's not as fun as the real clase de español, but I hope you will find some time each week to explore and learn a little Spanish!
I've created a Duolingo class for you to practice Spanish. To remember what you learn, I suggest spending 5-10 minutes per day, most days of the week. I'll be checking in to see if you've signed up and what you're learning! To join our Duolingo class, click on the button on the right hand side. At Easter time, people in Spanish speaking countries love to make cascarones. Cascarones means "shells" in Spanish. The eggs are hollowed out, cleaned, colored, and refilled with confetti. Then the real fun begins! People sneak up and break them on other people's heads! They do this with families, friends, and even sometimes at school and work! Watch these videos to see how cascarones are made! Try making your own this week at home! Es muy fácil y divertido! If you make some, email me una foto, por favor! |
